I cant believe that time has come! Today was the last day of sampling period three! No more sweeping and beating! Of course there is still field work to be done. We still need to GPS the non-experimental trees and we will need to collect our flagging and gather all the tagging materials but at least all the time sensitive stuff is done!
We started the day a little later than usual. An initial survey of our field site needed to be done by Louie to make sure the rain from the night before wouldn’t skew our results. Luckily, the rain hadn’t dampened our field site 😛 We set out in two teams. Myself (Nuray), Carolyn, Esther, Jenn and Will started on one side of the west block and Austin, Wenbo, Melissa, and Louie knocked out the rest of the trees on the other end of the west block. 56 trees were done in less than two hours! I guess we finally got our sampling routine down! Too bad it was our last day out there!
We were done an hour early, so clearly a trip to the donut shop was in order! Louie treated us to some delicious donuts! While this seems like a perfect time to take a rest, there is still tons to get done. Sampling period three needs to get underway, and our Multivariate ANOVA/linear regression with pre-treatment data is due Thursday evening. So lets get ‘er done!
Agenda for Thursday
9-11:50 Sort ALL the bugs! (Maybe we can fit in some R-workshop time)
